Ephesians 3:20-21

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Last night at our women's event Priscilla Shirer spoke on these verses. I'll get my notes together and give you all the nuggets of wisdom that she gave last night. It was an AWESOME event!

Excerpts from a Cat 's Diary .....

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

BooMama's Diptacular!

Since football watching will be in full swing at our house starting this weekend...I thought I would participate in BooMama's Diptacular event. This is one of our favorite dips:

Touchdown Taco Dip

1 - 28 oz can of refried beans
2 - 80z cream cheese (softened)
1 - 160z tub of sour cream
1 - pkg. taco seasoning
4 - cloves of garlic
Shredded cheese

Optional toppings - tomatoes, black olives, green onions

Spread the beans in a 9x13 pan. In large mixing bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning and garlic (I personally use the jar of minced garlic and put in a heaping teaspoon of that. OR if you are feeling fancy, you can get your garlic press out and press out 4 cloves of fresh garlic). Spread this mixture over the beans. Cover with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 mintues or until the cheese is really melted and the sides are bubbling.

Let it cool for a few minutes. Then you can add topping if you like. Serve with tortilla chips and cheer on your favorite team!
