A Word for Today
Psalm 25:1-10
"1 O Lord, I give my life to you.
2 I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.
3 No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.
4 Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.
5 Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
6 Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past.
7 Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
8 The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
9 He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.
10 The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands."

Bullet Points....I love them!
Most people that I work with and have ever gotten an email from me that contains a list, could easily figure out I love bullet points. They are short bits of information and are easy to get the meat of the information to the reader.
So yesterday, I was checking some blogs and read one of my Premier sister's blog regarding Prayer Cards. Knowing my love of bullet points, this made it simple and a way that I will remember specific prayer needs for different areas/people in my life. Check it out at bugsandsunshine.
Between Beth Moore's idea for writing down scriptures that speak specific truths for your life and her challenge of memorizing 2 scriptures a month for 2009 and now Anna's Prayer Card idea...the index cards are being introduced back into my life...which hasn't happened since the last research paper I did in college. But now I think I'll actually like the index card! ;-)

I'm Still Here...
...WOW! It has been a while. I am still here. We have just been pretty busy since the new year. For the last two weekends, we have been watching our nieces and nephews while their parents were having some time cruising the Caribbean. I must say...it was fairly easy because three of the four children are pretty self-sufficient (ages 12, 15 and 17)...and then there is the 2-year-old! I'm exhausted! He has a t-shirt that says "My parents are Exhausted"...I wanted to put a sticker over the "parents" and put "aunt". It was fun...especially visiting with my oldest niece about her life which is going to change soon...she will be going to college. My first job at 16 years old was watching the two oldest children when they were 4 and 2...what a difference!
Also, Friday night we enjoyed Luke's 3rd Birthday party! And Saturday...we celebrated my niece's 7th birthday at the skating rink. After reading this, you will understand why her mother is NOT having anymore skating parties!
I have some pictures I'll be adding to this post once I get a few minutes to download them from my camera.
Hopefully...I'll be back on here more often. Hope your 2009 is going good so far!

Happy New Year!
WOW! It is hard to believe that 2008 is over and we have begun a new year. I spent a lot of time yesterday reflecting over last year. In a lot of ways it was a very hard year...however, through those trials God has shown Himself to me in ways I did not know before. For that I am grateful!
In the past I have not taken time to look back over a year to see where I have grown and where I want to grow. However, because of this past year and the Celebrate Recovery group I have become a part of, I realized that is a very important thing to do. We should take time to reflect and see where God has done His work through our trials.
So as I reflected back on 2008, I have seen growth in my spiritual life and I tried to write down some goals for this next year. These goals are in all areas of my life.
My prayer this year is that God will continue to show Himself to me and I that I would daily give Him the control!
Galatians 3:3 (New Century Version)
"You began your life in Christ by the Spirit. Now are you trying to make it complete by your own power? That is foolish."
