Proud to be an American

My sister has a friend who is in Iraq, and she had an idea to send some encouraging e-mails over to the group of soldiers where Kyle is located in honor of the Fourth of July. Here is the e-mail she sent to me:

"Kyle has been getting frustrated over in Iraq and discouraged. He's hot and tired and ready to come home. Last time I talked to him he had only had 7 hours of sleep out of the last 58. I know he's only over there for 4 months, but as you can imagine, it would start to get to you. So, in honor of Fourth of July, I thought it might be nice if we got some people to send an email, or write a note, or send a card just telling him thanks and letting him know you're praying for him and the other soldiers."

We decided e-mail would be the fastest way to get them these notes. If you would like to send a word of encouragement to some guys/girls that we know are fighting for our freedom, please send the note of encouragement via e-mail to Andrea by noon on Thursday, July 3rd. Make sure to have "For our Troops" in the subject line and include your name and e-mail address. Andrea will keep all of the e-mails in a list and when she hears back from them, she will forward on to all who sent a note.

She is such a big girl!

My sister is having to deal with the longest 8 days of her life. Her daughter, Camryn, is in Las Vegas with her other grandparents to visit her dad and brothers. She has been so excited to go to Vegas, all the while worrying about flying. I have heard from my Momma and Andrea that they made it there.
Andrea is dog-sitting "her" dog, Chewy, that lives with Camryn's grandparents. An said last night that she said she "sat on her deck and boohoo-ed while petting Chewy" and Chewy kept trying to jump in her lap (Chewy is a 70 pound dog)! She said it was pretty funny.

Enjoy a picture of Camryn that my mom took yesterday before she left:
Keep Camryn in your prayers for a good time and safety while visiting! Also, pray for Andrea as well.

A Sister...

...is someone who leads you when you are having a problem.
...makes you laugh and cry.
...is someone who likes to fight with you.
...is the one who stands with you in all your ups and downs.
...makes you remember who you really are.
...sometimes makes you cry when they are very sad.
...is someone who is always there for you through all the laughter and tears.
...is real.
...never will pretend.
...is someone like you, whom I treasure everyday in my heart.

My little sister turns 27 today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ANDREA!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

I'm so proud of you and the woman you have become. You are the best sister in the whole world!
Love you!

Revalation Song

While John was at House of Isaiah he attended a church called Christian Life Center. This is a song that they sang at that church that John wanted me to hear. We found a CD with the song on it and after listening to it over and over the past couple of days and falling in love with the words, I want you to be blessed as well.

Worthy is the, Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to him who sits on
Heaven's mercy seat

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
to You the only wise King

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus your name is power
Breath, and living water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah...

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Back Home and Happy Birthday

Today is my husband's 32nd Birthday!

On Sunday I made a trek to Texas to pick up John. After several conference calls, Isaiah (founder), Tryston, Ms. Judi and John talked about his progress in the program and him graduating the program at 90-days. He had completed his bookwork, continued to do the memorization of the scriptures and go to classes, meetings, and church. He was named "client of the week" about 2 weeks ago.

We discussed my expectations and I had made a list of all the things that I expected. Everything on my list were things that John had on his list as well (plus he had a few more). We discussed how each of us felt about him coming home. There will be adjustments to make for both of us as we come back together as different people than we were 3-months ago.

I ask that you continue to pray for us as we move forward in recovery.

"Let It Fade"

"Let It Fade" by Jeremy Camp

Have you been walking on a surface that's uncertain?
Have you helped yourself to everything that's empty?
You can't live this way too long.
There's more than this, more than this.

Have you been standing on your own feet too long?
Have you been looking for a place where you belong?
You can rest, you will find rest.
You can rest, you will find rest.

Let this old life crumble, let it fade.
Let this new life offered be your saving grace.
Let this old life crumble, let it fade, let it fade.

Have you been holding on to what this world has offered?
Have you been giving in to all these masquerades?
It will be gone, forever gone.
It will be gone, it will be gone

Let this old life crumble, let it fade.
Let this new life offered be your saving grace.
Let this old life crumble, let it fade, let it fade.
Let it fade.

Are you carrying the weight too much?, are you running from the call?
Let it fade, Oh yeah.
You can rest, you will find rest.
You can rest you will find rest.

Let this old life crumble, let it fade.
Let this new life offered be your saving grace.
Let this old life crumble, let it fade, let it fade.
Let this old life crumble, let it fade.

Have you been standing on your own feet too long?
Have you been looking for a place where you belong?

Happy Birthday Momma!

Today is my Momma's birthday. In her Mother's Day card I told her that I'm so proud to say that I'm her daughter and that is still true today! She is a godly, strong woman...and she has always been there for me. Yesterday evening, we had a little party with her closest friends. Andrea and I grilled chicken, veggies and roasted red potatoes. We also made her favorite German Chocolate Cake.
A few posts back I showed the pictures that we had made...well, I wasn't able to show these on the blog until today.

This one, Andrea and I got blown up to a 16x20 canvas. She was surprised and loved it!

This one is still forthcoming in an 8x10.

I love you Momma!
